Following last year’s success and as part of the « Movember » movement to raise awareness for prostate cancer, the Chaleur Urology Clinic is reorganizing a prostate cancer screening day this fall in collaboration with Dr. Steven Lagacé, uro-oncologist.
This special screening clinic will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9 am to 2:30 pm at the Chaleur Urology Clinic, located on the second floor of the Place Bathurst Mall. No appointment is necessary (first come, first served).
All men over the age of 50 are invited to attend this prostate cancer screening clinic. The exam will include a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test requisition (to be done at a blood test clinic or at the hospital) and a digital rectal exam to identify prostate abnormalities.
Although sometimes uncomfortable for a few seconds, the digital rectal exam is an essential tool in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
According to the Canadian Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men. Help us stop the complications of this disease through early detection. *Please note that no other medical conditions will be discussed during the prostate examination.
